Trudi Romeo in the VW Home booth
The Bridgehampton Antique Show was a new venture for us. This past weekend was hot, muggy and there wasn’t a breeze to be found anywhere. You wouldn’t believe that, despite the horrible conditions, we were able to sell a wonderful indonesian desk, chairs and accessories to the point that we had to restock our booth with items from the showroom here in Manhattan.
I was there for parts of it Trudi Romeo, the VW Home showroom manager, was the one who braved the boiling heat without much of a break – I believe she lost 3lbs over the weekend!

I wish I could have been there despite such conditions….looks wonderful. Maybe next year.

After running an antiques shop for years, I finally ‘broke down’ and began doing antiques show about ten years ago. What a change it brought – not only to my work but to my life! You meet so many people who share your love for antiques, design and the fine arts. And many have taught me more than I could have ever learned from reading a book or touring the great houses and museums. Bravo, Vicente, for giving an antiques show a try.
