Update from Bangkok

Today was my first shopping day in Bangkok, among other things I ordered some new suits for the New Year.  The city is quite crowded due to the political happenings at the moment. Even so I am incredibly happy to be here again and staying at one of my favorite hotels, Mandarin Oriental. Tomorrow will be a day of relaxing at spa and then off to a Thai feast!  Tonight I went to a great restaurant which specialized in Thai/Indian fusion, I had the curried goat brains… it was quite a dish.

Vicente, beware of Patpong!! Not everything is as it seems……….anyways, you’re a man of the world, right! Been there, done that. But curried goat brains, yuk! That’s where I’d draw the line-you’re a braver man than me Vicente. Enjoy!

I look forward to stopping by your blog each day to see where you’ve been and if you’ve posted. It’s been so fun to follow your travels from Russia to Istanbul and now Thailand. You’ll come back with fresh inspiration. Enjoy the rest of the trip!

Vicente, I had brains in Istanbul with lemon wedges, but not sure whose they were. As long as you don’t start eating grass and tin cans, I guess you’re OK. Sounds like you’re having an excellent trip!

Please visit the teak mansion and eat at the Sukkothai (celedon)-best thai there for decades then stop by millenium hotel penthouse bar for drinks. Ilove thailand too.

Suits in Bangkok, I didn’t realize that Bangkok was known for bespoke clothiers. I’ve always just assumed it was London for suits!

Hi Vincent, just discovered your blog.
So, you sit at the Oriental and wait for Chatuchak to open… funny!
BTW Bangkok is always crowded. Especially during pay days and now, Chinese New Year. Nothing to do with political situation.
Looking forward what you found at JJ.
Greetings from BKK (I live here)
