But that was 17 years ago and your photos bring back sweet memories. Those doors are lovely and I always admire the Dutch for their open live style... large windows and beautiful chandeliers! Our family went there in July 2008 for a graduation celebration trip for our children. I think Amsterdam is one of Europe's most architecturally unique and photogenic cities. It also has a unique culture of toleration, compassion and fun! We enjoyed the span of classical to modern culture represented by the Rembrandtshuis, the Van Gogh museum and the photography museum Foam which had a special exhibit of the work of Dutch photographer Kors van Bennekom. I would recommend to any of the bloggers the minimalist Hotel Patou in the fashion district, named after fashion designer Jean Patou. I agree with Melissa that a book of travel photos as seen through your artistic eye would be fascinating indeed. I'll look forward to more of your photos posted here. I love Amsterdam.
