Last night I went to see “Lend Me A Tenor” on 46th street, right where they found the would-be-car-bomb-vehicle! I was so happy to see that the theater district was packed, there was a huge police presence and it was so clear that New York really is like the Eveready Bunny. It just keeps going and going.
It makes me proud to be a New Yorker. We take anything on the chin and just keep going. Congratulations to the New York police department and all the people who found this guy within 3 days of the attempt. We are all proud of you! (It was a great show, by the way!)

New Yorkers rock! So relieved that it failed and no one got hurt. Yeah for the vendors and NYPD!
And the show must go on… Love Broadway!

I’m proud to be one too, even though New Orleans is now where I live. And I am so proud of New Yorkers living the great New York life!

Let’s hear it for NYC, not only our largest and most fascinating city (a personal viewpoint), but perhaps our most functional city. For example, three years ago my daughter Peggy and I were doing a college visit trip to NYU and Parsons. We were headed downtown in a cab to have dinner at Otto’s Enoteca. When we were a few blocks away, a driver a few blocks ahead in our lane lost control, crossed on-coming lanes, jumped the curb and hit the corner of the restaurant building! Before our cab arrived and I could pay our fare, the police appeared with a wrecker and hauled it off. By the time we walked in the front door, the sidewalk was swept and you couldn’t tell that a wreck had occurred! I’m not making this up! I can’t imagine a quicker response anywhere!
BTW, Peg loves Parsons and says that all of NYC is her classroom. If you all don’t mind a shameless plug by a proud dad, I would recommend looking at her website Peggy Nelling – Photography at peggynelling.com. I think she has an amazing eye! – Gary

Let me try that again. You can paste peggynelling.com in your address window or click on http://peggynelling.com/home.html here if it shows up blue and underlined as I hope it will. Thanks everyone. – Gary

I do miss New York, however believe it or not Kansas City is the center of lots of action, arts, ballet, theatre etc.
