Sending out some positive vibes

The SecretThere’s something to be said about a half-full glass approach to life. I have been, due to certain bumps on the road, starting to feel negative lately. I don’t know if any of you have read The Secret, but it talks about putting out there what you want and disregarding the negative. If you think about the negative too much, that’s what you’ll get.

Over the weekend I was browsing through the book again and said to myself, ‘Enough of all this negativity; enough of eating sugar and fattening things, enough of beating myself up for whatever reason, enough of putting too much energy into things that only give you back negatives’. So, today I feel positive and when I got to my office building this morning, the elevator opened right there – I didn’t have to wait. A clear example of positive thinking!

So if you feel like you’re being beaten up and that everything is working against you, put a positive out there and it will come back to you – hopefully, with the same positive energy. If you’re looking for positive reinforcement, try The Secret. It sounds a little hokey, but what the hell. If it helps, why not use it?

    Vicente,

You’re completely right. “The Secret” came to me about a year and a half ago. I used the law of attraction to my benefit in my day to day life for about 8 months. I had fallen off the wagon so to speak for the earlier part of 2009. I’ve recently re-committed myself to putting good vibes out there and it is amazing how quickly things come back. Enjoy your day :-) Thanks for posting this.

    Clay

I haven’t read this one as yet but this is definitely something I really try to practice everyday. I have an inspiration board that is filled with my visual aspirations and I put affirming notes up there as well. It’s a subtle reminder daily to keep things positive.
I also like The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz to lift personal funks.

Vincente, I keep the Secret cd in my car…and listen on my way to see clients. My whole body energy shifts.
Thanks for mentioning it… a big lift for me to avoid energy bandits.

Thank you Vincente for the positive note.
We all have our negative moments. The important thing is that we just have to get up, dust ourselves off, and keep going.

    Vincente,
If you keep this in mind…that things, people, events and responses to the world is all an Illusion. Your position for the rest of you life is to make sure Vincente is getting the best for how wonderful Vincente IS in life as a living human being.

    Thank You for being you!

    Bette

Could not agree more! The bright side of having less work might just be more time to spend with our neglected families, or time to pursue some hobbies we love. It is a chance as an artist to really work on what you truly love to do, rather than feeling like we have to “make the donuts”, as sometimes happens in times of too much work. Of course, we all need to make a living, but do we really need to eat out several times a week? The world will recover and hopefully we will all be refreshed and more grateful when it does.

I totally agree with you on enough is enough! Some days a little self pity goes a long way…but then you wake up and say, “Choose to be happy!” Look at life with better eyes. Let yourself see the beauty instead of looking for the ugly. It’s like breathing in the first cold snap of the fall after breathing in the stale muggy air for too long.

I need the shot in my arm myself. I really am working on positive vibe today. Thanks for confirmation.

Thanks for the reminder. I am of the philosophy that the glass is half full, but lately, I have been dwelling on the empty side. I heard about the book but discarded it as another self help…. i will go straight to Amazon website and order it. Actually, over the week end, I was working on my blog about my last trip to Tibet and it brought me back to the real world and our perception of harshness which is (as you well know) so far from the reality of the rest of the world.

What a timely blog post pour moi! I have been in quite a funk the last few days and not blogging or reading blogs because I was just overwhelmed with life’s little details. I just felt they were all too much and keeping me from really “living”! So what did I do? I fed into it. I stayed in my pajamas and watched TV ALL DAY! Well…that did not help. Or maybe it did. Maybe I needed that down time pity party to get back on track and make the right things count and discard the things that didn’t. Or then again….maybe it’s just hormones and I have no control at all. Whatever the cause…I am up and running again. If one can just have the inner knowledge that it’ll cycle through to “good” again, we can weather the “bad” and maybe learn a little something from it all along the way. Perspective….it will help me every time.

Read this book when it came out and loved the positive attitude and the you can have it if you want it twist. I gave it to my then teen son who had major issues to face his examina in highschool even though he is a good student and guess what, he managed fine and it changed his way of thinking. He now tells me every time we speak of problems, remember Mama, our secret…:)))

Your positive vibes are well received. Will be well used. And will be returned.

First of all, I’m glad Vincente and Katie that you are on the up swing. I was so excited about some design ideas that I have I was practically busting. Then all the little things swept away my time to focus on it. I need to carve out time and devote it to this portion of my psyche. Wow, I feel better already. I’m going to buy the book.

To be honest It really surprised me to read this entry from you.

Something that I have always admired in your work is how positive your interiors are. They are calm and beautiful. I always wonder what the people who live in these spaces feel in their everyday life – How your designs affect them. You are definitely transferring good vibes and good energy to your work Vicente. I know sometimes is hard to be positive all the time, we are humans after all.

    Vincent,

Thank you for this beautiful post. I too, have been feeling negative and down. This was a great pick- me- up and I shall begin today with a more positive attitude and outlook! It’s nice to know we are not alone!

    Many thanks!

I agree 100% that the energy you give out is the same energy you receive in return. Change you bad habits for one week and see what a difference it can make in your life and your mindset.
