I’m back!

After a very frustrating couple of days in which I realized why I only trust paper and definitely not technology, I’m happy to say that we are back up.

Thank you for bearing with me during thisĀ adversarialĀ time.

BTW – Did any of you spot the proposal in Thursday’s issue of the Metro newspaper? There was a follow up in Friday’s issue and we learnt that he took his girlfriend to my restaurant Alto pop the big question, which kind of makes me an accomplice, right?

    Vicente,

I love my Mac, but I keep paper copies of anything important for the same reason. Technology is still magic to me. The silver lining to your blog crash was reading the posts from a year ago, especially the travelogue and photos of your trip to Namibia and the hilarious description of your Barney’s Clearance adventure. You should have taken your camera to that as well!

BTW 1- Alto is a terrific space. The article proves something you’ve known for years: that modern spaces can be romantic.

BTW 2- I visited an interesting showroom named August Avery in ADAC, the Atlanta Decorative Arts Center, that specializes in Asian antiques, primarily Chinese 18-19th c chests, apothecary cabinets, benches and objects from many provinces in painted and finished woods, including dense hardwoods like zitan which is much like ipe. Their pieces would work nicely in modern interiors much like the Chinese chairs you use. I thought you might be interested if you don’t know them already.

    Gary
