Every Christmas as a gift to clients and editors we do a shopping bag filled with objects that are all individually wrapped to ensure lots of surprise. One year the gift bag was all food things, another year it was objects that I bought at the Sunday market in Bangkok. When it came to planning this year’s gift bag I found myself thinking that, while things are beginning to look up, one has to stop and think about those who are less fortunate than us.
So we’ve decided that this year we’re sending out contributions in the name of different editors and friends to God’s Love We Deliver. I think it is important to think of those who do not have food to feed their family or a friendly face to help bad times seem a little better.
So if you have to send a lot of gifts, think about just picking your favorite charity and rather giving a contribution in the name of the receiver of your good wishes. It will save you shopping time and a whole lot of hassle and it can help somebody in need have a better holiday. (A lot of charities will provide you with a card that you can send to your friends to show your gift, so you can still send something to all the recipients – and this one will have even more meaning.)

Great article, and it’s definitely a great idea to buy charity gifts this year for your friends and family! If you’re interested in this then take a look at our Christmas catalogue – http://bit.ly/6eOJ7n – I’m sure you’ll find something appropriate. Happy shopping

My favorite gift is to “buy” an animal at Heifer International and send a card (provided by Heifer) to my clients announcing their “share”. I have received many positive responses, and since you send the card yourself, your client doesn’t end up on a mailing list. Heifer International believes in the philosophy that to teach a man to fish is better than just giving him a fish.

A touching video and it is true that compassion and love are all there are in the end and we will all come to an end of at least this story in this life!!!!!
To be vulnerable before we are forced into it is the task at hand.
I will donate to this charity..

I have in the past, and my parents still serve about 400 homeless families at a local KC Food Kitchen. I am thinking the same thing Vincente, it is the time to do more for others in need.

Yes, great idea. Charities have also been feeling the economic slowdown so now is a good time.

That’s an amazing video and a great idea you’ve given us. We’ll add this charity to our list and I’ll send the name and address to other friends. After a rough year, we are still better off than so many and so we should share with those less fortunate.
