Last Saturday I visited the Pace /MacGill Gallery in New York and was lucky enough to see an absolutely extraordinary photography show by American photographer Richard Misrach.
Unfortunately the exhibition closed that night but you can still see some of the images online. I was blown away by the beauty of this truly exquisite show.

“We are so small beneath the stars, so large against the sky.” – Leonard Cohen.
These are startling images, moonscapes of our planet Earth, a kind of abstract realism where our place and importance is put in perspective. I found a quote in an interview with Misrach about his artistic process that I thought you would enjoy: “I usually found that if I had a preconceived idea for a project it wouldn’t amount to much. Discovery—an aggressive receptivity, if you will—of what is in the landscape provides the inspiration for new ideas.”
An aggressive receptivity. How about that! – Gary

First let me say you are my favorite designer! I was watching some design show where they showed your loft and I was floored…so perfect!!! I love what you do, and here scrolling through I see you featured one of my fav photographers…Robert Misrach…his beach photos are so wonderful. “the cure for anything is salt water- sweat, tears, or the sea.” Isak Dinesen
Thanks for the inspiration!
