I finally just listened to this interview today!! So great, I loved it. I tweeted your quote;' Let the person [designer] who's work you like interpret who you are.' It takes a while to get to the stage in your career where people hire you for your 'look' not just to fluff up their already dated furniture, so that quote is perfect!!

By the way, would you be interested in exchanging links with me?
Let me know,
Thanks for sharing & inspiring us!

Great interview! As someone who worked for Vicente for three years, I can attest to his giving, non-pretentious, and inspiring personality. Look forward to the next book about projects start to finish. I remember you started on that when I was there...

Your discussion was so open and honest and I loved that you shared so much of yourself and your experiences. Your work has such clarity, and you always take it to a high level - that of art, rather than just decor.

PS: Here's what I think to be a spot on review from Mick LaSalle of the San Francisco Cronicle:

Know this is a bit stale, but was reminded when you posted today's movie review.

Really enjoyed this interview. I am not a designer, but a long time fan of your work. I think you might be surprised how many non-professionals there are who appreciate your designs and read your blog. Thank you for sharing, in so many ways, your art.
PS: Did you ever reveal your thoughts on Bruno, or did I miss it? Was dying to hear your take!

I was moved by the ease in your voice during your interview with the ladies...an ease that comes with years of being a student of life...evolving to where you are now! Thank you for allowing us into your world! I would like nothing more than to travel with you...having lived in Europe and spending a year in Singapore (travelling Asia) I am forever a changed woman...a good thing!

Thanks so much for joining the Skirted Roundtable. Y'all can cover so much ground in a conversation that would be impossible in a written interview, article or book. And as design consumer, I welcome your openness on the process, costs and in particular the value of professional design. Right now, it's "if you have to ask..."

Thanks again.

Absolutely fanfreakingtastic. Solid gold, y'all.

I have so much admiration and respect for you, Vicente. I have long been a proponent of "lifting the curtain" and approaching our industry as a healthy collaboration versus stiff competition. Thank you for opening up this dialogue and giving so selflessly back to the design world.

I feel so energized after listening to this! Thank you :)
