Next Question!

First we spent all our thoughts trying to guess who was going to be the new Editor-in-Chief of Architectural Digest. Now it’s all going into guessing who will be the new Editor-in-Chief of Elle Décor and will there be a change in the direction of the magazine. I hope not as it speaks to modern American design. I think that the look of the magazine has been so inspiring for so long that any new Editor-in-Chief who wants to put their stamp on what their magazine will look like may have a tough time. The fresh way that interiors are shown, the way that even the traditional jobs still come across in a modern way, the natural lighting that’s used to shoot, the whiteness of the pages…it’s something that to me is so representative of what Elle Decor stands for.

Let’s start the guessing game – who’s going to be the new leader of Elle Decor?

I think Michelle Ogundehin, who edits Elle Decoration in the UK would be fab, but that said, I’d hate to see her go because she does SUCH a good job in her current role.

Dominique Browning, if she would be willing to return to the magazine world! The style she brought to House & Garden, combined with her lovely writing, has been sorely missed since the H&G was shuttered. She currently has a wonderful blog, Slow Love Life, and a new book, “Slow Love, How I Lost My Job, Put on My Pajamas and Found Happiness.

I agree. Dominique Browning would be a great choice. I was so sad when H&G went….However, Domino had a great voice as well. So many talented people from the world of shelter magazines!

I am totally out of the NYC design scene, so I don’t know who’s who and what everyone thinks about everyone in the publishing world, but I loved Metropolitan Home. What do you all think about Donna Warner?
