Preston & Theo’s place(s)

I thought you’d enjoy a somewhat different view of my work today. Preston Bailey and his partner Theo Bleckmann had their apartments featured on Apartment Therapy this week (read the whole article here). I was lucky enough to be the one to help them bring their creative ideas to live in both apartments and the result is two spaces that really reflect the people that live (and work and play and entertain!) in them. Both have added their personal touch to the final design to truly reflect who they are.

What do you think? Quite a departure from my normal style, right?

Fabulous, I love the accent colors. Vicente I would love your thoughts on my luxurious getaway place last weekend!

A little more colorful than usual, but still very much you! Wonderful job!

Vicente – Your work is always recognizable but never predictable, which is the mark of a true artist for me. I can’t imagine two designers with more different approaches to space and color than you and Preston Bailey, but your treatment of color looks perfect for him as well as true to your vision. Your placement of mirrors in both apartments dramatically expands the sense of space, and both spaces are triumphs. – Gary

PS Whose wonderful floor lamps are those? (The ones with the white conical shades.)

I love this. Especially the plants, and the use of metro shelving for music gear. (I’ll be using that in my husband’s music studio.) I prefer this sort of messy vitality to a ‘perfect’ photo shoot.
