Mr. Nene

Mr. Nene

I am sad to say that Mr. Nene passed away last Sunday. It’s hard to believe that one can get so much support and pleasure from such a little creature.  For example, his social graces like welcoming a new guest at the door and walking them out when they left. Even on his last day at home, when I had people over for dinner he got up off his pillow where he was resting to walk my guests out the door. I will miss him as I would miss a best friend. I keep looking for him in the apartment and waiting for him to meow from inside front door when I put the key in the lock to get in. I miss the games he played under the sheets, how he followed me from room to room, and just hanging out with me and my friends. Goodbye friend.

    Vicente,
Everyone who visited your loft couldn’t help but fall in love with Nene; he was beautiful and mysterious and wildly fun. We all share in your loss, and I’ll keep you in my thoughts—

I’m so sorry to hear about your loss – having a dog myself who has become BFF’s with our neighbors cat Buster – I have an affection for the little guy who plays with my dog daily and follows me around the house. It’s never easy loosing a pet especially one that has been a source of comfort and companionship over the years. Thinking of your little one.

I am so sorry for your loss. Our pets are truly family members who give us unconditional love. It is so sad that we have them with us for such a short time.

Vincent, I’m so sorry to hear of the passing of your beautiful little buddy Mr. Nene. My aunt lost her husband in May and right after he passed the first thing she told me was when someone passes away, for the living who loved them they will never be “gone”, a new chapter has been started where they will now live in our hearts where you will always have them. I think thats a nice way to consider our departed loved ones and that’s what I hope for you and Mr. Nene. Take care.

Losing a dear pet is like losing a true member of the family. Mr. Nene reminds me of a cross between my little girl Jade who showed up in one of the barns next to the 125 year old farmhouse I was living in in North Carolina, and my big tabby Tony.. Jade had a litter of kittens with her but became one of the sweetest and loving indoor cats you ever knew. Tony was with me for 18 years and one of the few constants in my life during that whole period. They both moved to Toronto with me and I miss them both so now.

Think of him often and remember the joy he brought to your life.

I am so sorry, Vincente. A house is not a home without a pet. They become so much a part of our existence. We’re thinking of you downunder.

It is amazing how much our pets touch our lives and our hearts. I just lost a family pet of 12 years on Friday. Sorry for your loss too…

I am so sorry Vicente, my sincere condolences from me and my beloved Scooter – my faithful little companion for 16 years – he is diabetic and has a thyroid problem – I give him 2 shots a day. I dread the day he won’t be with me.

John and I enjoyed Nene’s hospitality over Thanksgiving last year – had I known it was the last time I’d have hugged him even more. Thinking of you during this tough time, Vicente. Much love.

Vicente I’m so deeply sorry for your loss. The first time I saw a picture of your Mr. Nene my heart skipped a beat,,,,,Nene could be the twin of my long haired tabby, Elliot, who’s now 10 – he’s the joy of my life and I dread the day he will no longer be with me. Everyday I’m in awe of his beauty and how much happiness he brings me. Mr. Nene was lucky to have such a comfortable and loving home with you. Now I can’t stop the tears rolling down my face as I look at that beautiful photo…

What a gentle, gracious creature. So sorry for your loss. I do know how you feel. It takes time…But we were blessed by a tiny little kitten that we found outside our shop. We love him so much, and he softens the sadness. Be well.

I am so sad!!! I will miss Nene. My heart goes out to you. He was a good friend to you.

  22. Joe Probus

I’m so sorry. The only downside of sharing your life with an animal is saying goodbye.
Giving them love and a home is the best thing you can do for them.
    Sincerely,
    Joe
