Last night I had dinner with my friend Tim Corrigan. When we first met he was into real estate, but always lived with great style and individuality – whether it was in Europe or New York or when I met him in Santa Barbara. Since then, he has become one of the top designers in LA with clients literally all over the world. But it’s not his talent that makes him shine, it’s his wonderful personality, his social concerns and his California-easy appeal.
It’s hard to find people whose conversation, point of view, and interests become so intertwined with one’s own. We do very different designs. Our lifestyles are so completely different, and we don’t see each other very often as we’re on different coasts. When we get together, however, time flies. Being the day after I had dinner and spent some time on him, it makes me reflect what a good friend is and what it constitutes.
They say blood is thicker than water, but I say a good friend is hard to find.

VINCENT-
You are right–Timothy Corrigan is a fabulous, thoughtful, fun, nice and hugely talented fellow.
Did everyone see his chateau…yes, chateau, in the September (or August?) AD. The interiors are so chic–French and appropriate but very fresh and inviting and modern in feeling.
I think he is a great talent.

I love that you took the time to write this tribute to your friendship. You are totally right – there is the family you are born with and the one you create for yourself. A true friend is a great treasure!
