Preston Bailey and I have been friends for almost as long as I’ve been in this business. It’s been so wonderful to see him follow his own path and becoming as successful as he has become. At the recent VW Home Roundtable Event he shared with guests how he got to be this successful by following his own ideas and doing things his own way.

Loved the video! I never watch these things, but I stayed the whole nine minutes for this one.
I had an event design business that started at the end of the 80′s, and went well into the 90′s. Preston was the senior class, and I was the freshman, and I learned so much from him.
BTW my motto was “More is more!”
Preston is and always be Mr. Fabulous!

What a real gem Preston is!!
I always find that those that start out with little and often are self taught have the most soul and bring that out to the world!!!
The fact that he keeps evolving shows that he is fueled by curiosity and that shows in all that he is!!!!!!

I just found this video off of the blog visual vamp. Thank you so much for posting this. It is great inspiration and motivation for me. I have a two year degree in interior design and have decided to start my own business next year in interior and event design. I decided this because friends keep asking me to do parties and weddings, so I have kept a file of picures and am starting my own business next year. I have one question for you though. I have taken all my own pictures with my little point and shoot camera. I’ve thought about taking a photography class so I can take more professional looking pictures. How did you do it when you first started out?
