Preston's flower parrots
What a party! What an evening! From dancing girls, the great Cogunto Nuevo Milenio Dance Company dance company and performances by the amazing singer Xiomara Laugart (performer on the Broadway Show Celia Cruz), great home style food prepared by Preston’s sisters, catering by Olivier Cheng, colorful cocktails and so many handsome people in a beautiful space…
The carnation tiger - larger than life
My only disappointment is that, just out of spite, Preston didn’t wear something tight. I was truly disappointed that he didn’t show off that ‘fake’ body of his. (I mean, nobody at 60 has a body like that…it has to be a transplant, I know it!)
The birthday cake featured a solid chocolate Preston (6-pack included) and edible flowers
They say the cobbler never has good shoes. Preston is clearly the exception – that an event designer can create such an amazing event speak to his understanding, his great style, his warm hospitality…it was amazing. He created enormous parrots all out of flowers, an enormous tiger made of carnations and really brought Panama to a rainy Manhattan in every sense of the word.
The party was topped by Theo Bleckman performing an original piece to celebrate Preston’s birthday with a full orchestra and a video message to Preston from Oprah.

I thought, “Hmmm…cute” when I first saw the parrots – then the gal standing next to them put them in perspective. Wow! Fab.
And, who in the world would sell Preston anything other than tight clothing?

Fun! I love the vibrancy of the colour scheme for the party. The tiger is amazing and the mini preston on the cake is hilarious.

Great Party… and the music…ah! the music…I am listening to “Hoy mi Habana” while writing and I am just back in Havana, such a superb city with the most kind people living with great dignity and smiles through the most difficult times.
