Frida Kahlo Book

I just received my copy of the new Frida Kahlo book featuring my collection of photography from her personal albums. It’s called Frida Kahlo: Photographs of Myself and Others and it is published by Pointed Leaf Press.

I think it is really wonderful. The art direction was done by Sam Shahid and he did an extraordinary job in laying out the collection. I am so thankful to Suzy Slessin for being so excited about the collection and wanting to make it into a book. If you have a chance and you find yourself fascinated by Frida Kahlo, get the book. The photographs really offer an amazing insight into her life.

I love Frida’s art & have two of her books. I attended an opening at The La Jolla Museum of Art featuring her and her husband’s works.

Quote: “The art direction was done by Sam Shahid” – anything Sam puts his name to is superb – this is a great book.

    You know…

There’s a lot of information about Frida Kahlo’s obsession with being remembered and that’s one of the driving reasons for all the self portraits and photos. This book is a wonderful look into that obsession.
