Montauk Before & After

Montauk kitchen now

Here are the before and after images of my kitchen in Montauk that so many of you have been asking for. As you can see both images were taken from the same angle.  I took out the bay window, created a platform outside,  and installed sliding doors. The sink is still in the same place but I extended the island and added a stove with a hood. I also changed the floors and painted the walls, basically transformed from ugly to beach casual.

So lovely. I hope that you post more pics. I love before and after posts. To me, it feels great to be able to stand back and say that I did this or I had the idea.

Do you get do-overs in jokes? I meant to say: “I’ll take door number two.” It’s such an old game show reference that maybe it doesn’t make sense to you all anyway! – Gary

Talk about a complete transformation! The new kitchen looks amazing, love the white counter tops, and the flooring looks amazing, along with all the natural light.

It has often occurred to me that it would be nice if the rule were… all before and after shots should be taken at the same angle. It is a good way to compare the new space and the old. Apples to apples as they say.

What a breath of fresh air into your kitchen, it looks like a completely different house. Much more spacious and ‘airy’. The stone floor looks fantastic!
