Hello Mr. Wolf, I am a big fan of your work and love the interiors you create. I have two questions for you (1) When a young interior designer comes to you seeking an internship or a job, what do you look for? What about an applicant most resonates with you? (2) Your May 12th post, “India Arrivals” featured a beautiful inlaid chest: was that chest a found item, or one you designed?

Dear Olivia -
1) I look for enthusiasm, a sense of commitment, the knowledge of both hand and CAD drafting, and just remember, this is not about what I can give to you, but rather about what you can give to me! So be sure to point out your willingness to do whatever you have to do to make my/the employer’s life easier.
2) The chest is a one-off I found in India. Be sure to visit VW Home, we have some similar pieces.
