Artist Len Davis

I came across artist Len Davis who creates beautiful collages – one of my favorite types of art. At home I have a large collection of photography collages and thought I’d share these with you. Be sure to click through to his website for more of his pieces. For those readers who are not able to browse the art galleries of New York for themselves, I’ll continue to share new up and coming artists that I think worthy of including in your projects here.

I love his work. It reminds me of Jasper Johns, and Robert Rauschenberg. Intriguing.

Vicente – Len Davis’s collage images are colorful and controversial. Coincidentally, I’ve earmarked a couple collages for purchase from a professor of mine, Leslie Laskey, who is a fantastic artist and one of those larger than life figures who is still going strong in his 80s. He’s a master of abstraction in many media; drawing, painting, wood block prints, photography and now collage. He has a collage collection nearing completion made entirely from the patterned insides of security envelops, like those that contain checks, called SENT or Security Envelops Now Tampered that will be exhibited this fall in STL.
